Architectural Photo Shoot in Loveland, Colorado
I recently did a fun project for BRS Architecture for their newly renovated locker rooms at the Chilson Recreation Center in Loveland, Colorado. This architectural firm has been renovating a lot of locker rooms across the country and this one happened to be in my area.
The tough part of doing a project like this is that we have to try to schedule it during off-hours, which means I had to head up there bright and early on a Sunday morning and shoot before they opened.
Arriving before doors open does not guarantee that there won’t be issues or people. They had several emergency repairs happening so there were contractors coming in and our of the locker room areas during the shoot,
which can be distracting and can slow things down.
Construction folks and contractors, in my experience, can be very chatty.
I wanted the photos to be bright, accurate colors, straight lines, and show off the little details like the special locks and the wood grain.
I did use supplemental lighting to help with the color casts, and to bring out the fine details. Lenses used were a 50mm, 70-200, 24mm Tilt-Shift and a 16-36.
